DURPLAST

UHMW-PE abrasion-resistant and anti-clogging polyethylene

Durplast is an ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMW-PE), supplied in sheets from 10 to 50 mm thickness. It combines excellent abrasion and impact resistance with a very low coefficient of friction, making it an effective anti-build-up solution for bulk materials.

Its very low density (≈0.94) helps reduce the weight of linings while limiting stresses on existing structures. Durplast also features almost zero moisture absorption, good chemical resistance and a surface resistivity greater than 10¹² Ω.

Technical & General Information for DURPLAST UHMW-PE abrasion-resistant polyethylene

Main characteristics of Durplast UHMW-PE:

• Material : Recycled UHMW-PE polyethylene
• Density : ≈ 0.93–0.94
• Hardness : ≈ 60 Shore D
• Recommended service temperature : up to 80°C
• Very good resistance to abrasion and corrosion
• Surface resistivity : > 10¹² Ω (excellent electrical insulator)

Thicknesses & formats of UHMW-PE plates:

• Standard sheets : 10 to 50 mm thickness
• Cutting and machining possible according to drawings (wear pads, guides, chute bottoms, etc.)

Installation Durplast anti-impact plates:

Durplast sheets are fixed by bolting onto a fabricated steel shell or onto existing metal structures.

PRODUR can carry out the panel layout study, define fixing systems and joint covers, while considering thermal expansion allowances and service conditions.

Main Applications of Durplast

Durplast is particularly suitable for equipment in contact with bulk materials or continuous flow systems:

  • Hoppers and chutes
  • Conveyors, belts and guide rollers
  • Wear pads, rails and guides
  • Impact plates
  • Screw conveyors and grain or aggregate handling components

Advantages of Choosing Durplast

Thanks to its excellent abrasion resistance and low coefficient of friction, Durplast reduces build-up, improves material flow and limits cleaning operations.

Its low density makes it possible to lighten structures compared with steel linings while reducing loads on supporting structures.

Its dimensional stability, low water absorption and good chemical resistance make it a reliable solution for humid or mildly corrosive environments.

Made primarily from recycled materials, Durplast also helps reduce the carbon footprint of wear-resistant linings compared with virgin plastic materials.
