DURA-CRETE

Wear-Resistant Concrete

Dura-crete is a technical wear-resistant concrete specifically developed to withstand sliding abrasion on separators, cyclones, hoppers and drop zones.

Its high-alumina formulation provides high compressive strength (70 to over 150 MPa) and excellent temperature resistance.

It can be applied by troweling onto expanded metal or by casting in formwork, either in the workshop or directly on site, with 25 kg bags suited for maintenance operations.

Technical & General Information

Main Characteristics :

• Material : Wear-resistant concrete based on silicon and alumina oxides
• Density (110 °C) : ≥ 2.7
• Compressive strength : 70–150 MPa
• Very good resistance to sliding abrasion (low mass loss)
• Service temperature : up to 1200 °C in severe conditions, with possible higher peaks depending on operating conditions

Packaging & Application :

• 25 kg paper bags (stock available on site)
• Shelf life : 6 months under proper storage conditions
• Water dosage : ≈ 5 % (1 to 1.5 L per bag)
• Application : mixed in a mixer, troweled onto expanded metal or cast in formwork, typical drying time : 24 h

Main Applications of Dura-crete

Dura-crete is recommended for:

  • Internal linings of cyclones and separators
  • Highly stressed hoppers and chutes
  • High-temperature abrasive transfer points
  • Equipment exposed to repeated sliding abrasion

Advantages of Choosing Dura-crete

Dura-crete provides a highly effective wear protection solution where conventional concrete or abrasion-resistant steel reach their limits.

Its high alumina content gives it excellent mechanical and thermal resistance, making it ideal for hot process environments.
Its simple application (troweling or formwork casting) allows localized areas to be treated or rebuilt without heavy metal fabrication work.

Finally, its bagged packaging and ease of preparation make it a practical material for repair or lining operations in cement plants, quarries, power plants or processing facilities.
