Premium Wear-Resistant Steel

The Creusabro® range is produced using a manufacturing process and metallurgy that differ from low-carbon martensitic abrasion-resistant steels.

In-service wear resistance is significantly enhanced by a surface hardening effect of +70 HB, triggered by local plastic deformation caused by rock impacts or the pressure of abrasive particles.

This reaction is known as the TRIP effect (Transformation Induced Plasticity).

Creusabro®: Ultimate Performance Against Wear, Heat and Corrosion

Its moderate as-delivered hardness makes it easier to process complex parts in the workshop, without compromising wear resistance in service.

Thanks to its specific metallurgy, Creusabro® withstands temperatures up to 450°C and can be hot-formed without complex heat treatment.

Creusabro® also offers high corrosion resistance, outperforming standard abrasion-resistant steels in corrosive environments combined with abrasion.

Creusabro®: Outperforms Conventional Wear-Resistant Steels

Durable wear parts play a key role in achieving maximum operational performance and avoiding costly machine downtime.

Creusabro® steels have proven to outperform conventional water-quenched plates in wear resistance:

  • Creusabro® 4800 lasts 50 to 100% longer than conventional 400 HB plates.
  • Creusabro® 6400 lasts 50 to 100% longer than conventional 450 HB steels.
  • Creusabro® 8000 and Dual last 50 to 100% longer than conventional 500 HB plates.

Creusabro® 4800

370 HB (as delivered) – 440 (after TRIP EFFECT)

Creusabro® 4800 is a quenched steel offering an optimal combination of wear resistance and fabricability. Thanks to the TRIP effect, its abrasion resistance increases by +70 HB under the effect of impacts and pressure.

Thickness : 3–150 mm

Main applications :

Wear parts, bucket liners, conveyors, hoppers, wear blades, bulldozers, screens, cyclones, crusher tongs, etc.

Creusabro® 6400

460 HB (as delivered) – 530 (after TRIP EFFECT)

As the latest addition to the Creusabro range, Creusabro 6400 is designed to meet the needs of OEMs and end users looking for an abrasion-resistant steel that delivers higher performance than conventional 450 HB grades, while being easier to fabricate than a 500 HB steel.

Thickness : 5-100 mm

Mill liners, screens, hoppers, crusher liners, dumper body liners, dump bodies, bucket liners, excavators, bulldozers…

Creusabro® 8000

470 HB (as delivered) – 540 (after TRIP EFFECT)

Creusabro® 8000 is an oil-quenched wear-resistant steel enhanced by an alloy-enriched chemistry (chromium, nickel, molybdenum, titanium) and specific heat treatments. Its moderate as-delivered hardness makes cutting, machining and forming operations easier.

Thickness : 4-60mm

Main applications :

Wear parts, bucket liners, conveyors, hoppers, wear blades, bulldozers, screens, cyclones, tongs, etc.

Creusabro® DUAL

470 HB (as delivered) – 540 (after TRIP EFFECT)

Creusabro® Dual is an advanced abrasion-resistant steel with a high titanium content (0.6%). Compared with Creusabro® 8000, Creusabro® Dual is based on an innovative metallurgical concept, built around a specific chemical composition.

Thickness : 10-50mm

Wear parts, bucket liners, conveyors, hoppers, wear blades, bulldozers, screens, cyclones, tongs, etc.
