Duraplate D31T
Stringer-bead hardfaced steel for very severe abrasion
Duraplate D31T is a chromium carbide hardfaced overlay plate produced with straight beads, with a hardness of 60-62 HRC and hard phases mainly at 1650 HV.
It withstands very severe abrasion up to temperatures of 350°C and moderate impacts.
For high-abrasion applications with strong impact, we recommend our Duraplate D38T overlay plate.

Processing of Duraplate D31T:
Duraplate’s exceptional quality allows cold forming according to specifications depending on the combination of overlay and backing thickness.
Plates heated above 1200°C can be hot-formed without altering properties.
Weldability of Duraplate D31T hardfaced plate:
All standard welding procedures apply to Duraplate overlay plates.
The overlay can be repaired or supplemented with electrodes or DURCOR wires of the same composition as the filler metals.

Duraplate D31T: The High-Performance Choice for Straight Beads
The straight-bead deposition, a key feature of Duraplate wear plates, provides:
- A more homogeneous overlay (fine carbides)
- A more consistent overlay thickness
- Finer and better-distributed cracks
- Low dilution into the backing plate
These four factors give Duraplate straight-bead grades superior wear resistance compared with conventional hardfacing processes.
This straight-bead overlay, applied by Welding Alloys, ensures better control of the dilution zone, reducing weakening of the base plate and minimizing crack risks during forming and fatigue-related impacts over time.
