Wear-resistant screens and scalper
Repeated impacts and the abrasive nature of materials can lead to progressive deterioration of screen surfaces.
Our expertise in precise cutting, forming and assembly of abrasion-resistant and/or anti-clogging materials allows us to manufacture most types of screens.
The steels used to manufacture your screens must meet three essential criteria:
High yield strength to reduce deformations caused by loading impacts
Superior wear resistance
Easy weldability under site conditions
Wear-resistant materials for your screen and scalper
- Dursteel® 410, balanced compromise between high yield strength and excellent wear resistance.
- Duraplate® D45T, overlay plate resistant to high temperatures.
- Creusabro® 6400, particularly suited for screening thanks to its very favorable HAZ (Heat Affected Zone) profile.
- Creusabro® 4800 – 8000, combining high yield strength and superior wear resistance thanks to the “TRIP” effect.
In case of clogging, your screens and trommels can be lined with Durplast® S, a sprayed polymer offering dynamic wear resistance and excellent anti-clogging properties.
Case Study: Wear-Resistant Screens and scalper
CASE STUDY
Manufacture of a grid for an extractor
In a steel plant, the central grid of a steel apron extractor showed advanced wear, leading to a high risk of perforation and unplanned shutdowns.
To secure this critical area, PRODUR designed a custom component in Creusabro® 4800, a high-performance steel known for its resistance to combined abrasion and its delayed work-hardening capability.
Result: a more robust component, increased service life, and improved operational continuity.
