DURAPLATE Hispeed

Smooth, Anti-Build-Up Hardfaced Overlay Plate

Duraplate® HiSPEED is a highly wear-resistant overlay plate, featuring a smooth surface and minimal cracking.

Its homogeneous overlay, composed of fine chromium carbide particles dispersed in a ductile matrix, provides excellent abrasion resistance and consistent durability across its thickness.

Thanks to its perfectly flat surface, HiSPEED significantly reduces friction, material adhesion, and build-up, while ensuring high stability in service, even in demanding environments.

Technical & General Information

Hardness :

59-62 HRC

Thicknesses & Formats :

*Base thickness + overlay thickness (mm)
5+5 / 6+6 / 6+7 / 8+8 / 10+10 / 12+12

3000 x 1000

Mechanical Properties :

The overlay has no intrinsic mechanical properties; the backing steel it is welded to provides suitable characteristics (S235, S355, HLE, …)

Yield Strength RP 0.2: 355 MPa
Tensile Strength RM: 510 MPa
Elongation A%: 22

Typical values for S355 steel

Fabrication :

Plasma cutting with standard parameters.
Bending and rolling: the overlay must always be on the inner side of the bend to avoid tensile cracking on the outer side. Minimum rolling radius: 15× plate thickness with overlay on the inside.

Weldability :

All standard welding procedures apply to Duraplate.
The overlay can be repaired or supplemented with DURCOR electrodes or wires of the same composition as the filler metals.

Main applications of Duraplate HiSPEED

The exceptional versatility of Duraplate HiSPEED makes it the ideal choice for a variety of industries and applications, such as:

  • Mill liners
  • Screens
  • Hoppers
  • Chutes
  • Dumper linings
  • Loader and excavator buckets

Why choose Duraplate HiSPEED ?

Duraplate HiSPEED stands out with its exceptionally smooth surface, drastically reducing the coefficient of friction and limiting material build-up by up to 75%, providing a more consistent flow and improved operational efficiency.

The absence of welding beads gives the material multidirectional wear resistance, without orientation constraints during installation, unlike conventional CCO plates.

Its very low dilution and homogeneous carbide distribution ensure consistent hardness and stable performance throughout its service life.

Thanks to minimal cracking and the ductility of its matrix, HiSPEED also exhibits low residual stress, making cutting, rolling, and integration on industrial equipment easier.

For all applications requiring smooth flow, anti-build-up properties, and durability, HiSPEED offers a benchmark solution that is more efficient and versatile than standard plates on the market.
