durzalt 40

Technical Ceramics – Cast Basalt

Durzalt 40 technical ceramic is a high-quality cast basalt specifically designed to withstand severe abrasion while offering excellent chemical inertness and thermal stability up to 350°C.

Cast in dedicated molds, it can be manufactured in many shapes (tiles, slabs, pipes, elbows, cones, nozzles) to precisely match the geometry of the equipment to be protected.

Its color, ranging from reddish-brown to glossy black, depends on the type of mold used and does not affect its performance.

Manufacturing process :

DURZALT® 40 is produced by controlled melting of natural basalt sourced from selected volcanic flows.

Crushed and graded, it is melted at 1250°C and then cast into sand or metal molds to obtain parts perfectly matching the required shapes.

Fixing method :

After fitting and positioning, DURZALT® 40 parts are fixed using a mortar adapted to the operating conditions :

• temperature
• chemical exposure
• mechanical stresses

The fixing mortar is specifically selected according to the equipment environment.

Main Applications of Durzalt 40

DURZALT® 40 is particularly suited for areas exposed to severe abrasion with moderate impacts, especially where material flow by sliding is essential:
  • Hoppers
  • Chutes
  • Chain conveyors
  • Piping components (pneumatic or hydraulic conveying)
  • Cyclones & hydrocyclones
  • Cones and separators
  • Wall linings
  • Industrial floors

Advantages of Choosing Durzalt 40

Thanks to its high hardness and remarkable resistance to sliding abrasion, Durzalt 40 provides durable protection even in highly demanding environments with moderate impacts.

Its smooth surface ensures an excellent sliding coefficient, reducing build-up, adhesion and clogging while promoting a consistent flow of materials.

Its thermal stability up to 350°C, combined with high chemical inertness, guarantees reliable performance in aggressive industrial environments.

The possibility of producing custom-molded shapes allows perfectly adapted linings, even for the most complex geometries.

Durzalt 40 therefore represents a cost-effective and high-performance solution to extend the service life of hoppers, chutes, piping systems, cyclones, industrial floors or conveyors in the most demanding environments.
