This was the challenge faced by our customer with the feed screws used in its manganese calcination tubes.
🔍 After analysing the wear mechanisms, our teams redesigned the screw:
➡️ A flight made from CREUSABRO® 4800 abrasion-resistant steel.
➡️ Removable wear liners made from DURAPLATE D31T hardfaced steel.
➡️ Flux-cored wire hardfacing applied to the most heavily exposed edges.
Beyond improving wear resistance, this design makes it possible to replace only the worn liners, preserve the screw structure and reduce maintenance time.
