…equipment service life can decrease rapidly.
At this gold mine, the spray nozzles in a mineral slurry processing tower were exposed to particularly demanding operating conditions: abrasive slurry, high flow rates and an alkaline environment.
🔍 After an on-site analysis of the wear mechanisms and a 3D scan, our teams reverse-engineered the component.
DURSIC® was selected: a silicon carbide ceramic renowned for its exceptional resistance to abrasion, erosion and chemical attack. Its extreme hardness and thermal stability make it a particularly effective solution for the most aggressive environments.
🛠️ The design was also optimised by adding a steel casing to protect the ceramic component during maintenance operations.
At PRODUR, we combine on-site analysis, reverse engineering and material selection to improve equipment reliability over the long term.
