At this asphalt plant, the mixer combs quickly became clogged with material. The result: almost a full week of cleaning with a rotary hammer, significant workload for the maintenance teams, and combs that had to be replaced every year.
🔍 After analysing the operating conditions, we upgraded the solution:
The 400 HB steel combs were replaced with ground Duraplate D31 combs, and the geometry was optimised to reduce material build-up.
The results:
✔️ Cleaning time reduced from one week to just 2–3 hours with simple scraping.
✔️ Service life extended from around 1 year to more than 3 years.
✔️ Fewer maintenance interventions.
📸 After the same period of use, the difference in wear is clear: the ground Duraplate D31 combs (left) retain their geometry, unlike the 400 HB steel combs (right).
