Wear Block – White Cast Iron + Weldable Base

Durcast is a wear-resistant block combining very hard martensitic white cast iron with a weldable S235 steel base.

This unique composite combines the extreme resistance of cast iron in the wear zone with the weldability of S235, making it possible to securely fix a material that is normally unweldable.

Durcast is designed for severe and localized wear areas requiring very high mechanical resistance.

Mechanical Properties :

• White cast iron block CrMo 15-3 : hardness 700 HV
• Matrix hardness : approx. 650 HV
• Carbide hardness : ≈1300 HV
• Carbide volume : ≥30 %
• Base : S235 weldable steel
• Metallurgical bonding achieved by copper brazing under inert atmosphere
• Mechanical bond strength : >250 MPa

Thicknesses and formats :

• Discs : Ø75, Ø90, Ø115, Ø150

• Blocks : 200×25×25, 300×25×25, 230×50×50, 432×50×50…

• Bars : 240×40×23 to 240×90×29

• Skid blocks : 200×150×45, 250×150×45, 250×250×45

Main Applications of Durcast

Durcast is used to reinforce areas exposed to very severe localized abrasion:

  • Rock boxes, bucket bottoms
  • Rails, wear pads, crusher side liners
  • Hammers, cutters
  • Conveyor belt discharge points
  • Severe impact zones
  • Tooth holders, scraper blades
