Duraplate D38T / Tuffplate
Straight-Bead Hardfacing Steels
Duraplate D38T is a straight-bead hardfaced overlay plate; its titanium carbide-rich overlay, dispersed in a tool steel-type matrix, provides exceptional resistance to impact, pressure, and abrasion.
The overlay hardness ranges from 52 to 55 HRC and consists of hard phases at 3200 HV.
Technical & General Information
Hardness :
52-55 HRC
Thicknesses & Formats :
*Base thickness + overlay thickness (mm)
8+4 / 10+4 / 10+8 / 12+8 / 12+12
2900 x 1900
Applications :
Hopper and chute linings
Tunnelers’ linings
Cutter housings
Return blades
All fabricated parts
Pipelines
Fabrication :
Duraplate’s exceptional quality allows cold forming according to specifications depending on the combination of overlay and backing thickness.
Sheets heated above 1200°C can be hot-formed without altering properties.
Weldability :
All standard welding procedures apply to Duraplate overlay plates.
The overlay can be repaired or supplemented with DURCOR electrodes or wires of the same composition as the filler metals.
Why choose Duraplate D38T ?
Duraplate® D38T is the ideal solution when severe abrasion is combined with high impact or pressure levels.
Its fine titanium carbide overlay ensures a homogeneous, extremely hard, and highly stable structure over time, providing wear resistance far superior to conventional methods.
The straight-bead technique delivers consistent thickness, low dilution, and finer cracks, reducing the risk of fatigue or weakening during forming.
With its smooth, very hard surface, D38T enhances equipment durability, minimizes maintenance interventions, and delivers essential performance in the most demanding industrial environments.
